The Challenge

CancerAction is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families through their treatment journey. They were managing volunteer coordination, patient services, and donor relationships through a combination of spreadsheets and outdated software. This fragmented approach made it difficult to match patients with appropriate resources, track volunteer hours, and demonstrate impact to donors.

The Solution

I built a comprehensive operations management platform that unified all aspects of their work. The system includes a patient intake and needs assessment module, volunteer management with skills matching and scheduling, resource library with educational materials, donor management and automated acknowledgment letters, and impact reporting dashboards. The platform was designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring patients of all technical abilities could easily access services.

The Impact

The organization increased their patient service capacity by 50% without adding staff. Volunteer engagement improved with better matching and scheduling tools.
